Code Crew Grade 2
Hands on the controls.
Code Crew Grade 2 introduces variables (memory) and functions (named procedures) using a visual block language with optional text-mode for kids who want to try it. The cliffhanger plot: the R&R fleet's auto-pilot has a bug. Kids spend 12 weeks tracing the bug, isolating it, and shipping the fix. By the end, kids understand how a real software bug-hunt actually works.
What your kid will learn
- Use variables to store and update a number or word
- Define and reuse a function
- Read a 10-line program and predict what it will do
- Use a counted loop (for-loop, introductory)
- Compare two values and act on the result
- Work through a multi-step bug-hunt with a logbook
10 to 15 minutes a day, four or five days a week. Pairs with the matching Code Crew print workbook when it ships.
